January 25

Another night of the "Cook through Nigella" challenge. This one was much better.

January 24

Finally time to go back to school. (Or more importantly to her, to see Ian.)

January 23

A picture missed. Just a moment before, Didi had his paw wrapped around Sam in a full-blown cat hug.

January 22

Happy things.

January 21

The paperwhites we planted before Christmas are almost done blooming.

January 11

The first time I ever cooked fish. The first night of the cook through Nigella challenge. Unfortunately, not the last time I will cook fish nor the last night of the cook through Nigella challenge. Alternative title: Plating is not my specialty.

January 10

This date shall hereafter be known as the date I cheated on this challenge by using a photo taken on a previous day.

January 9

At the laundromat.

January 6

I can see that this is going to be a year of mostly bad pictures if I don't get my act together and remember to use the camera before 11:00 at night. Anyway, these are winter bulbs planted by the kids as one of their advent box activities. They are really coming along nicely!

Lavender in winter. Also known as forgetting to change the ISO. But who says I can't post mistakes?

January 3

This is Harry. He is mostly a jerk. Hyper, bad, eats everything. But he's our dog. I also took a picture of Justin's feet in his Christmas footie pajamas. But Harry won tonight.

January 2

Because today ended up being an unexpected extra day of winter break. Charlie didn't have to go to school so he kept busy with his ds, playing in the snow, taking a nap and reading. Tomorrow it's back to the regular schedule for all of us.

January 1

Buttons might seem a strange place to begin. But these buttons are a culmination of several weeks of sorting my scrap supplies and I love the idea of starting the new year with a burst of color and some much needed organization.

Happy New Year!
